Tool Battles is a niche launch platform for digital tools, designed to help indie makers and startups gain early traction. After a successful MVP launch in early 2024, the platform experienced solid initial growth — but struggled with product discovery friction and a confusing submission experience. Our goal at Lunchbreak was to refine the visual identity, simplify the interface, and create a more intentional product experience built for scale.
The updated version of Tool Battles featured a completely restructured layout, including tabbed interfaces for cleaner product pages, sidebar components to house secondary metadata, and a redesigned navigation system to drive better exploration. We introduced real-time search functionality, improved the editing experience for tool creators, and added a lightweight update feed that made tool pages feel more dynamic and current.
Beyond UX, we also rebranded the platform with a new logo system and visual language. Minimal, trustworthy, and tech-forward, to reinforce credibility and make the platform feel polished without losing its indie edge.
Tool Battles now reflects the original vision: a community-driven, evergreen platform where digital tools can thrive, with the infrastructure and UX to back that mission.
